Feedback from a real doctor on House

Has anyone read the blog, http://www.politedissent.com/house_pd.html? It's not my blog, but it's a blog maintained by a doctor. In it he reviews each episode, critiquing the medicine and soap opera qualities. It can be quite amusing, sometimes, to see where the medicine comes up a bit short for the sake of telling the story or getting a desired result. I highly recommend checking it out and bookmarking it to read each week after the show. Are there any sites you check out for info on the show?

Thanks for the link! I am glad that the blogger admits that it is still a drama so there are always going to be leaps of faith and playing with the facts to make a show more entertaining or watchable. I think that the blogger is fair with that at the very least. I was expecting them to just pan the show. With a show like this the audience of course is not all medical doctors.

It sounds very interesting. As great as House is and how awesome it is to watch him come up with the cure right when all hope has gone. It seems doubtful that this could happen in real life. But it does make for a great show, that blog is probably really interesting too!

This is definately a site I have chosen to Bookmark and will be looking it over more all of the time. I Love House, and got to see the Hospital they use, etc. when I went to Princeton NJ in September. Like I said I will be reading more.

House is an awesome show! It's my favorite and I don't miss a week. Lol. I currently own the first 3 seasons on DVD and I'll be getting the 4th when it's available. I'll check out that link. I'm no doctor, but I do know that the diseases and diagnoses are a bit far-fetched. But, wow! What an awesome show! =P

When I watch a movie, there is always a credit to some sort of expert. I do think the same should apply to Television shows. that is the show is about a doctor, there should be a real doctor or doctors to make sure that the diagnoses are the same as if they were in real life. We also have to allow for artistic license, because unless the patient is Bill Gates, no set of doctors can tend to his needs twenty four hours a day. I do not check out information on the show because if the information was not correct, there would be phone calls from the experts and the show would change. I remember when CSI first started, someone must have called them in, and now you see them in uniforms.
