Hi,there! Nowadays it's very common that people choose job hopping. I'd like to know what you think of it. Do you agree with that? Do you think it's good for the young people or it's bad? After how many years do you think it's proper to jump to another company?
Share your ideas with us:) Thanks in advance^_^

hi fanji.i really tihnk that job hopping is required in the intial few years of the career.even i did so.wen a person is fresher in the service industry or any toher for that sake,he or se needs to gain more and more of experience.and from one company he can get only one kindo f experience. So job hoping really helps a lot in the longer run.however i guess after 4-5years one should stop hopping and look for a company which can give me a good career and other facilities as well.big compaines do not like to take job hoppers since ther is on guarantee of their attrition.

I have been doing this job hopping eversince i came home from working abroad for two years... since then... i had like 4 jobs in a span of 2 years... and now that i found the job that i really love... i suddenly get this news from my boss that they would not be pushing through with the project...
So now i have to hop to another job again... which is so sad for me because i really really like my current job and has already set my mind to staying for a very long time...

Most employers see job hopping in a very negative way. In fact, a lot of employers will refuse to look at a resume if you job hop every year or less. Also, it shows that you are not consistent and makes it appear that you will leave a job the second you are unhappy instead of attempting to remedy the problem. In my opinion, you should stay at your job for at least two years that way you establish your self at the job (for those good references!), you can take advantage of the 401/retirement plan(can you imagine having to keep track of the retirement plans if you switched jobs every 6 months?) and medical benefits, and you learn the entire skills set well enough to take it to the next job.
