In my country, the government tries to discourage smoking by putting gory pictures of people suffering from lung cancer, throat cancer, mouth cancer and etc on the cigarette box. Initially, it did help to deter some people, after a while, smokers get used to the pictures and continue smoking. I have a friend whose father smokes. On his father's birthday this year, he decided to give his father a carton of cigarettes. On each cigarette box, he pasted his family photo over the gory pictures. He wrote a note to his father telling his father how he feels about him smoking. After reading the note and seeing the family photo on the cigarette box, his father was very touched and really successfully quit smoking. I guess it's good to use the soft approach. Do you have any success story to share to motivate smokers out there to quit smoking for the benefit of their own health and their family's health?

being a ex smoker here, i can say the best way and fastest way to quit smoking is to go cold turkey.. though it's hard, but it's a guranteed success when u got the determination to do it :)

to me, it all depends on the person who smoke and if he really want to quit smoking. If the person has confidence in himself that he can quit, it can be done overnite. Myself i was a chain smoker and got hit one day that i should not, thats all done overnite its almost 4 months i have never touched
