another coup was launched. they called for the resignation of mrs. arroyo. they argued that arroyo is illegitimate and morally bankrupt to govern after various scandals. do you agree with them?

I agree with their cause for launching such a failed mutiny but I will never ever support such kind of action to solve all the ills besetting the country. Ever since the days of Cory Aquino, who was also besieged with so many mutiny, I don't personally agree with any extra-constitutional means of removing anybody from power except that of the late Ferdinand Marcos. Well, a lot of people may have their own ideas and level of frustrations as far as running the government is concerned and we have to respect that totally. But then again, I am with the majority of the people who have expressed opposition for any military-led or backed action againts the present government.

I totally agree with your point of view. We Filipinos do not support any military takeover whatsoever. It was proven many times over and the people's voice is always respected. It is true that our government has many issues to answer but taking over by force is just changing faces which in the end result to the same thing. Look and people power I we have changed governments but then same issues haunt us the people.

no I don't, and I'll never support anything illegal...the means do not justify the end...enough of these theatricals...Trillanes should be a movie actor, in a make-believe world instead of being in the senate. He could have used his influence as a Senator within the limits of the law...he may have thought that Filipinos are morons as they elected him into office...but there are still millions who do not support his cause...

i think it is better to look at the things in a broader picture here. what caused trillanes and lim go out and staged that failed coup? i thought it was made clear in the statement of lim that arroyo has been doing illegal things and getting away with the responsibility and sanction. if arroyo could only explain her side and be accountable, no coup will ever emerge. opposition will have no case or basis. but arroyo opted to be silent and not explaining anything to the people. how could the filipinos trust a leader who could not be honest and could not tell the truth? the actions of the soldiers are merely reactions to arroyo's illegal actions. arroyo thought that she could get away with those. she may have thought that Filipinos are morons by allowing her to stay in office without being elected and abuse the office by illegal actions and inactions. i always admire those people who stood up for their belief and principle. Filpinos deserve anyone except arroyo. she is the worst ever leader, not even president because she was never elected to office.

i don't believe in the Arroyo government, but i don't believe in the actions of Sen Trillanes as well. he has always acted on impulse. i don't think that is a good move of a person who is expected to be mature enough to plan, start, and lead that kind of action (the coup, i mean). to me, he's crazy. i did not vote for him. he and sen honasan among the opposition candidates i did not vote for. all the others i voted are all from the opposition.

Yeah there are indeed issues that this administration is facing but then the manner they want to end this issues is such a way that they want another people power revolt which for me is a little bit premature. For people power again to reignite you have start with investigations etc etc that the masses will really feel that there is not other way. What he did was to make a quick shortcut move of just grabbing power. It was not taken by the masses that much. The poeple has learned from the previous people power movement. He never learned from the oakwood mutiny.... just a desperate move from him that no one really was able to respond because of its haste to get what they wanted.

you agreed that the arroyo government has issues it needs to face. how does it face them? sadly, by whitewashing and at times not issuing official statements; in doing so, the people are getting more confused and "ungovernable." is it a bit premature to take action if one's comrades are dying in mindanao by fighting with malfunctioning weapons, old boots, and absentee generals in the field? and the bullets that killed one's comrades are coming from the military. is it premature when the charges of corruption and scandals with damning evidences are being denied to be heard in the proper forum just because this government has the numbers to quash investigations and not looking at the merits of the charges? three impeachment complaints junked, where do answer and truth-seeking filipinos go to? and this government is not saying anything officially about the charges. but its allies have different versions of the events trying to whitewash and fool us.

I agree with your point but again I would say look at the result they created.... They did not goto the proper avenue so their cause and their fight went to nothing at all. They are back to square 1 Trillanes is being charge further for rebellion or may be given punishment from the senate for doing such acts not expected from a senator. What is happening right now is the people they are accusing of corruption are the ones taking the limelight and enjoying it to their delight. The most disgusting thing about their plan is that opposition leaders even went mum on their plight. I did not see a single soul from prominent oppositionist to even stand up for the cause he is fighting for. So again I say it has become a very premature thing to do. They never learned from the Oakwood mutiny. Armed revolt is not gonna work in our society as Filipinos are still a very loving and forgiving people we never result to violence at all that is why the communist movement is taking it hard to exert their armed revolution because the masses are not that violent at all.
