You can not standardize the time frame. It depends on individual comfort level

i was with my husband for a year before we were married. we were together for 5 months when he gave me my engagement ring. He wanted to talk about getting married and set a date and all that and I didn't. So one Monday he came to see me at work at lunch time and I told him I was gonna get married on Friday. SO on Friday the 13th in August of 1999 we were married. But I knew the first day I met him that I would marry him. So I think it depends on the couple. If you aren't ready then don't get married yet. You don't want to do it then regret it. SO wait until you think you are ready. If he loves you he will wait until you are ready. Good luck.
