Murtha Now Agrees that the Surge is Working.

Rep. John Murtha has always been outspoken in his opposition to the war in Iraq. So outspoken that he even tried, convicted and demanded punishment of some US Marines on charges of murdering some Iraqi civilians (of which they were acquitted... of course, with no apologies from Murtha).
Now that he has travelled to Iraq and seen a few things for himself, he says he is impressed with the success of the "surge". He also warns that the people of Iraq need to take a larger role in their own security.
Might I remind Murtha that if Prs. Bush had of listened to him, we would have left a long time ago and Iraqis wouldn't have ever had the chance to take his new advice?
I agree with Murtha, Iraqis do need to take a larger role in their own security. Isn't it great that they are finally in a position to actually be able to do that?

I'm glad he went and saw some success, which I'm proud to say both of my sons have had a part in. The Iraqi government officials need to learn how to govern themselves and take responsibility for the safety of their own people and it's going to take time, so it's good to see some actual acknowledgement in the press that that is happening. I just don't like when politicians change their stripes just to appear to be more in line with public opinion. Perhaps Murtha has some potential opposition in his next re-election bid, you suppose?

That could be, we'll just have to keep an eye on him. The fact that he still hasn't apologized for his accusations against those Marines tells me he still isn't worth his paycheck.

Murtha is just a windbag like the rest of the liberals... the best thing they could do is be put on the frontline in any conflict so that they could get the real story behind the reports that they base their decisions on.
The fact is that if the war in Iraq was being by a democrat instead of Bush, these same people who oppose the war would be for it.
Instead of trying Marines for murder, Murtha and the rest of the democrats should be tried as traitors for their actions during this war.
People die during war, including civilians... and anyone who doesn't know that is too stupid to be in any position of power.
I say throw all of the democrats out because they are ruining America.
