Last night I went to a Tastefully Simple party that my friend was hosting. It was my first time going to one and I have to say that it was a lot of fun! I went in, sure that I wouldn't buy anything and ended up rationalizing that it would have cost more to buy the things i bought at a restaurant. I am really broke though so all I had on me was $13 and that was how much I spent! I didn't realize how involved the party would be. You get to taste a whole bunch of different products. I tried the Caramel Latte, a creamy rice soup, beer bread, lots of different dips, some kind of (AWESOME) apple bread or cake and more!!! I was expecting everything to be too expensive and while I was correct a lot of the time I also found a lot of stuff that was reasonable too! Good for the frugal ones because you just couldn't say NO to some of this stuff!! I ended up buying the beer bread and the potato soup (because potato soup is one of my cravings right now!) If I would have had more money I would have bought the apple bread or the Banana Rum ball or whatever it was called! And some of the dips. All I have to say is that I will never say no to going to one of their parties again!!! I was chatting with the girl about the business opportunity afterwards and she said that she only does one party a week unless she is really trying to get extra money and she usually makes about $1000 a month! That is pretty awesome! The scary part is that you have to sell so much every month or every few months and I would be afraid that one time period would be bad for sales or one of my kids would be sick or hurt and I wouldn't be able to leave them and I don't know what happens then- do you have to buy it yourself? But the comforting thing is knowing that people always buy food- it isn't like make-up where it lasts for months! Has anyone else had an awesome experience with home parties? Please share!

I had never heard of a Tastefully Simple party before. It sounds like it would be a lot of fun. We are on a tight budget also, but I'd love to check t out anyways. I'm going to look for them on-line. Thanks for the great tip.

There are reps for Tastefully Simple all over- you should be able to find one in your area! On the website there is info about hosting a party and how to get in contact with someone. They will try to sell you products- that is the whole point of them being there but no one is obligated to buy anything. But with their products I don't know how anyone could resist at least buying one of the cheap things!! I am pretty sure everyone else there spent way more than I did- they all got their checkbooks out at ordering time!
