Yesterday for the first time I saw a peacock in my garden.I was mighty thrilled and I went and clicked alot of photos. As I neared it I was scared it might shy away.It just never seemed to mind people coming next to it.Again it came today and remained in the garden till it became dark.I wonder where it must be from.Actually they say peacocks are never found in cold places. What do you think?

It looks beautiful. The India Blue Peacocks are hearty and easy to keep, even in cold districts. The Green species is not bred as often as the India Blue and is therefore more expensive. You can see that the tail of the green peacock is exceptionally beautiful! The Green is more susceptible to cold and needs to receive adequate protection from the cold.

We actually own 3 peacocks. One male and 2 females. I am not sure what the females are called, peahens maybe. Anyway, no they are not shy creatures at all. Ours come right up and sit on the railing of the side porch and walk around the yard with you.
