What is your opinion on the opening of Reliance fresh? What are its merits and demerits?

As far as grocery items are concerned, 'Reliance Fresh' is alright. But I will say that for vegetables, it is against the interest of the local vendors, who market the vegetables locally and depend on this for theier earning. Thanks.

well I don't think there has been much in the difference in the earnings of the vendors even though Reliance ventured into the field of vegetable and fruits section

That is yet to be tested by time. But no local vendor will welcome a big competitor in this field of vegetables and fruits. Thanks.

Ya truly said mitra but i think all the commotions created by the local vendors helped Reliance as they brought Reliance Fresh into limelight as even people who did not knew about it came to know about Reliance Fresh after the commotion.

There are several points to be noted: I vote for reliance fresh because: 1. The vendors do not pay the farmers properly and obtain the vegetables cheaply. 2. In India there is no facility for the farmers to sell directly to consumers. 3. Thirdly the manner in which the materials are stacked and stored are totally unhygenic with the private vendors. 4. The price is not known before the purchase. The hue and cry that poor dealer's bread is snatched is not correct. 5. The vegetable vendors bribe the policemen and park their carts on the road, throw garbage on the road side and cause nuisance to the public.

I case of consumer durables as well as daily necessities apart from vegetables i think that reliance fresh as well any other one place shop places are good and successful, but certainly again it depends upon its location as well as the rates of the products. Generally these departmental stores are supposed to lessen the marked price by a rupee or may be 50.oo paise depending on the product. I havent much had an experience with reliance fresh but definately with Marks & Spencer,Hypercity as well as D mart. I rate D-mart the best as it actually gives the value of your money. If one buys the many products at one time than it saves a lot of amount of money. As the prodcuts there are very well priced as compared to the market price. Hypercity is not that great when it comes discounting the marked price but d mart rocks. Even more of Aditya birla group has ventured in the markets i have seen a few outlets near my area. Even spinach.
