How (not) to win friends

I have had a rough time with pain this week, so my partner bought me some soft cakes as a treat and a cheer me up. "Which are you then, a pig or a cow?" asked my neighbour. On looking more closely the cakes were iced and the decoration was of a cute cow or a cute pig. My partner didn't know where to put himself and quickly explained that he had not thought about that when he bought the cakes, the neighbour scooted back into his own flat and I enjoyed a good laugh. My jaw pain hasn't settled enough to eat them yet but once it has we shall share the cakes. The memory of the laughter will last a lot longer.
