Ebay Fees?

December 1, 2007 4:33am CST
I just signed up to ebay to help my mum sell a rare picture that she has and I was checking out the FAQ's when I saw that they charge fees for listings and so on. what I want to know is do they charge the fees up front or do they wait till the sale has been completed and then take it out of the final payment from whoever won the item? I'm sorry if this is somewhere in the FAQ's on Ebay but I got totally confused trying to understand how it all works. All replies appreciated!

Thanks for replying to the discussion. Can you give me any more information on half.com? Are they as secure as ebay and do they have the same sort of variety as ebay does? whats the shipping like? do they ship to international countries like the UK? Sorry for so many questions lol you got me intrigued about this website. I'll go and take a look at it. Thankyou for the information!

Half.com is an eBay company. I have never bought anything from it, but I know how it works. It is similar to Amazon.com People from all over the world can create an account and list their items for sale. Prices normally do not include shipping. The whole concept behind Half.com is that you can buy items for half or less of the normal retail price that you would ordinarily pay in a retail store. All items listed on Half.com must have a bar code on them so it is mostly books, CDs, and DVDs. Make sure that you read the seller descriptions and terms carefully on whatever you decide to buy. There are many dealers on there who have very large inventories just like a store. Good luck.
