loosing someone special

i am 35 years old and lost my long term partner of 16 years to cancer life is so hard now but i keep going for our son he is what we lived for if it wasnt for him i wouldnt be here and sometimes i sit and wonder is it only me who has went through this and why

You have my sincerest condolences - losing someone is never easy. I am a professional counselor and suggest that you talk to someone about your pain. We don't seem to be able to go on until the cup of heartache is emptied.

thank you for taking the time to reply i have thought about seeking counselling but just tried to get on with it without it but noe asmit to myself i am not coping

I'm sorry to hear that...I lost my grandfather in 2000 and it still hurts until now because he was the one who brought me up. I think, doing the things you'd want to do to and saying the things you wanna say to your son would help you move on. MAke your son a living memory of your partner but never try to find your partner's person in your son. Learn to divert your attention. Moving on should start from you. If you think you need more help, there counselling or seminars available and also the church is a good source of help.
