Christmas shopping by yourself or do you shop with someone else.

When you go out to do your Christmas shopping do you like going by yourself or with a friend or relative? I went Christmas shopping with my sister last night and we just had a blast. It was the first time in a long time I had got to do that with her. We shopped until the end of the extended hours so didn't get home until after 10. Do you prefer to shop alone or with someone?

I like going with someone, usually my oldest daughter comes up for a visit around Thanksgiving, so she and I go out and get some of our Christmas shopping done, we stop for a coffee or lunch, and have Christmas music playing in whichever vehicle we take. We have a blast going together. I usually go shopping with my boyfriend too, around the 22nd, he likes waiting til last minute lol. and we go for dinner afterwards, and on the way home stop at the Christmas Village to look at the lights and have hot chocolate.

Hi Jill, haven't been here for a few days. Seems this month is crazy. I always do my shopping alone. I don't like to shop and so I have my list in hand and try to get it done as quickly as possible. If I go with someone they always want to stop and look at everything. I just want to get it done and get the heck out of there LOL. I have never really enjoyed shopping but Christmas shopping can be a little more fun. I take my time and look at what I want to and then move on. I haven't finished my shopping yet so I am trying to brace up for it. LOL. I hope you have a good time doing yours and enjoy it. Hugs.

This is a crazy month! LOL This was the first time in a long time I have gotten to shop with her. She hasn't been in the Christmas spirit for many years in fact she said the other day she just couldn't get into it. But the other night she finally got started. We had so much fun. By yesterday after I left her house she was going to take her husband and get a tree and she had finally made a list! Hugs to you too!

I much rather go on my own, if at all! I hate going Christmas shopping, I hate the crowds, the mad frenzied dash around the shops, that's why I much prefer to go throughout the year and buy gifts and put them away, plus shopping on the internet is so much easier, less stress and more fun because you can shop more and you are not on your feet all day, waiting for buses or trying to find a car park space! If I go with someone else I have to compromise and have to go round the shops they want to and if it's a female friend or relative then I'm usually dragged around the womens clothes shops, aaarrrgh no, and lingerie too (blushes!) no deffo on my own as less as possible!

I totally understand your position....I don't like spending time in Cabelea's with my son either much as he loves being in the store shopping for hunting or fishing stuff. There is alot to see but if you aren't into that kind of thing the time drags!

My husband and I usually go Christmas shopping together, unless we are shopping for each other. I don't like to shop alone, it's just too boring to me. I don't really like to shop with my sister because she has more money to spend than I do lol..

Well, I shop with the whole family. I dont want to shop alone. WE just make a one day shopping for the family. Its one way to bond with the whole family. We buy stuff together, clothes, shoes and more. We enjoy being together. I believe taht ots the best time that we can feel Christmas more.

I prefer to go alone. I am not much of a shopper and really don't have a lot of income to spend. I used to like to go with friends or family. I think just because of not having alot of extra money to spend in recent years it is not such a pleasurable experience as it could be.

I really don't mind shopping alone or with someone. Sometimes shopping with someone else can make shopping difficult, especially when buying items for the person that is with you, but really, I don't mind it simply because at least I'm out and doing what needs to be done. And, if I really cared about them seeing what I was getting them, I wouldn't be out shopping with them to begin with. I usually NEVER go shopping alone anyway, so if I want to get anything done, I'm going to be with someone.

I normally enjoy shopping by myself, but sometimes it is easier to shop for Christmas with someone else. It is easy to get into the Christmas spirit, but sometimes I get stuck on knowing what to buy for certain people. Having someone with me gives me a sounding board and more suggestions than I could think of by myself. Plus, you just have a better time when spending time shopping with friends or family.

That's great! Went shopping alone yesterday, but it was so lonely. I'd rather have my daughter with me (who's 25 years old) when we shop. Aside from bonding, you will really have a good time together, just like with your sister. In fact, I am just waiting for her to come home as she's still in Manila...so we'll catch up with our Christmas shopping as soon as she arrives....I hope it's not yet too late....

I never shop alone. When I am in New Jersey I shop with my husband. If I am in Mississippi I shop with my mom or my kids stepmom who I happen to be best friends with. If I am in Florida I shop with my sister. I hate shopping alone unless I am online shopping.

It depends sometimes I prefer shopping on my own where I can get lost in my own little world and take as long as I want. Other times I love going with other people. The company is great and if I can't find what I'm after or a certain present it's great to have another person's view. So really I guess it just comes down to the moment and what you are after and how much time you have.

During Christmas season and on regular days, I usually shop by myself. I accompany my friends when they are shopping but never really shop for things with people I know around. Just the other day, I met with my friend at the mall and though I had things I needed to buy, I didn't. The next day, I went back to that mall and bought the things I intended to buy the day before. I don't know why I'm like that. Now, I suddenly feel weird.

I just order most of our gifts online. With gas prices as high as they are, we cant afford to go anywhere just to shop. We live along ways from a mall. It is a two hour drive to the closest mall. That takes alot of gas. I like to shop alone.

I prefer to shop alone at all times. I like to take my time when I shop (I spend at least an hour in each store I go to) and I go to a lot of stores. I can easily spend 5 hours shopping and if I decide to go to the mall it's a done deal. The closest mall to me is an hour away so it is an all day trip for me. Nobody likes shopping with me because I take so long. I can try on the same piece of clothing a few times to make sure it fits me right.. I am very particular about what I buy. But when I shop for other people I am the same way. I don't like being distracted by other people.

Then that is the way you should shop! I can see where you like to try on the clothes....I won't buy anything I don't try on and if it's fit is just a little off.....no deal! Thanks for posting.

I usually shop alone. I don't do too much shopping...I give gift certificates as all of my grandchildren..8 of them....are 16 and older...I can't seem to find the right thing for them. We don't exchange gifts with our family so there aren't lots of gifts received or given. We get together to enjoy each other and eat until we can't wiggle anymore.
