Traffic -- how do you cope

Traffic in metro manila is one of the world's worst. When I was in HS, during summers, I would spend my time in Manila, and in the 90s traffic was already an issue. While riding from Taft to Quezon City, it usually would take two hours. When you are caught in a traffic jam, killing time in this moment can be really boring. What I would do then was to look at the car plates and try to put meanings into their letters -- i.e. seeing this plate: NPA 214 (it could mean New People's Army 214). I would associate names of friends or names of popular groups that would fit in the three letters. :P Up to now, it remains as a hobby. Now, how do you cope with traffic?

traffic is really bad up to now. usually, i bring a book and a couple of magazines to read while travelling. sometimes i bring my psp and while the hours away playing. other times, i just listen to my ipod and pretend that i'm not caught in traffic. the mmda has done nothing to alleviate the city about the worsenign traffic conditions. those stupi bayani fernando tarps are annoying and to be stuck in traffic with that bf tarp in plain view just flat out sucks!!!

Hahhaha! MMDA has this gimmicks to ease the traffic, but i guess, traffic and discipline go hand-in-hand. :)

its good to have your smartphone with you, play music, listen to radio or surf internet, just try hard not to be obvious. or else your phone might be caught up in the traffic faster that you know it :-) LOL

Coping with traffic can really be awful. Especially in your place Metro Manila. Bring some books to read like "Guide to Personal Development," Financial Literacy for the Financially Challenged. Or best yet, take a walk. But it's too hot in there. What do you do for a living?

I work in a non-government organization. I think you are so into financial management. I do not recommend walking here, it's kinda polluted in the streets. :P
