I heard someone say it is racist to require students to pass english. I don't think so because it requires people of all races to pass english not only certain races be required to take english. I think in order for someone to get a good job in the U.S. they must be able to speak and understand english.

Its not racist. The same thing happens in other countries for their native language. One must be literate and fluent in the language in order to interact, participate and succeed in the country. How would a person survive without basic literature and speech skills of the nation's language?

No, it is not racist at all. If people want to live in the US, they should learn the language. I wouldn't expect to go to Japan or somewhere and have people learn English in order to communicate with me. If I want to be there and communicate, I should learn the native language, and so should people who come to the US.

I'm in agreement with your view. English isn't just about learning to speak the language, it's about learning to write and understand grammar properly as well. This is an issue that has nothing to do with race whatsoever.

no it is not,the U.S. and Western Canada are english speaking counties (regardless of those idiots in the east ),and if you do not want to speak it,stay in your own country where you can speak the language perfectly. these people claim to come to these countries for a better life, welcome, but leave your old life behind and embrace those of the country you come to. I am sorry if you do not agree, but this is my veiw.
