I suppose it was because when you broke the mirror you could step on the glass and since there was no such things as cleanliness, you would get infected, get gangrene, or lockjaw and die. But they probably had an explanation that your reflection was your soul and by shattering the mirror, your soul was shattered and it took seven years to put it back together. I mean it is kind of ridiculous.

Same here, I only follow beiefs most of the times out of respect to my elders. But personally i weigh it first if I will believe on it or not.

Those are just beliefs, there's no logic or valid reason to have such effects. Perhaps it happened before coincidentally and that became a belief. I do not believe in it.

I understand your point. Beliefs of other doesn't necessarily mean that you should belieeve on it,too.

I do not believe that broken mirror bring bad luck. Of course broken mirror is not good to see own face or own style properly so it should be changed immediate basis - not to change luck because when mirror use without broken it cannot bring good luck so when broken how will bring bad luck ?

Broken mirrors don't bring bad luck. I know this saying, but it has no logical meaning. At one point, people started to believe that broken mirrors bring bad luck. And once the idea got into peoples' heads it's very hard to change what they believe.

Hello dear izathewzia. I think that broken mirrors are used to describe how things are going with us in a very vivid way. You see, it is impossible to get a broken mirror as good as it used to be. However you try to fix it, the broken trace will never be gone. It is still there. Probably for this reason, there comes this saying. This is only out of my guess and imagination. Thanks for your topic, dear friend. Good day.
