NSW school speed cameras catch thousands

Almost 20,000 vehicles - or 200 a day - have been snapped speeding in NSW school zones in the first half this year. The speed cameras fines have cost motorists nearly $2.5 million, News Limited newspapers reports. The top infringement zone snagged 3,384 vehicles on The Entrance Road at Bateau Bay, on the Central Coast. A Freedom of Information request has revealed the cameras caught 19,995 vehicles during school zone times between January 29 and June 30, News Ltd says. NRMA president Alan Evans said the behaviour of the speeding motorists was "pretty dumb". Roads Minister Eric Roozendaal said speeding through a school zone was "reckless and stupid behaviour". __________________________________________________ Not only the poor motorists get rip off to the tune of 2.5 million... but on the top of that... they are being insulted. This is a preventive tactic to justify the government's extortion. Call us dumb and stupid... so that we won't complaint about the fines. How many children were hit by the 20.000 motorists fined for speeding? Answer... none. What are you going to do with the 2.5 million? Buy more cameras... so that we can make more money. What about the poor little children? Should we not spent the money to protect them? If you are so concern about the children running into on coming traffic... Why don't you simply build a fence along the footpath to prevent them getting on the road? Why don't you have a lane inside the fence for the parents and the buses to pick up the children? That way the children would not need to go nearer the road. What about the children who walk home from school? How do they manage to do that without the safety of a 40km/h zone? Why does it take two hours in the morning for the children to get into school and two hours in the afternoon to leave school? I would like some answers...

Its a big a big money making scheme, we didnt have it as kids , although there is more traffic on the roads now...If they have the cameras near schools why not day care centres ? Im so mixed on this issue. Why dont parents walk their kids to school, or teach them not to go on the roads ?? Why do motorists still slow down to 40 in school holidays ??

All good questions... and the answer is... - The parents have asked the government to be responsible for their kids... after they realised that they were not fit to be parents. - The government exploited the stupidity of those parents to raise revenue. That make the people stupid and the government smart. Lets face it... politicians might appear stupid through their policies... but did you ever see a poor politician?

Yeah, whatever happened to teaching your children not to step out in front of an oncoming vehicle?
