I think it's a great shame that such a wonderful tradition of taking your young children, nephews or nieces to see Santa Claus and sharing their happiness, laughter and excitement of seeing the big man himself, sitting on his knee and telling him what you want for Christmas and getting a present! Wow, wonderful eh!Yet in today's society it's a sad day to see that children are NOT allowed to sit on Santa's knee for fear of being 'inappropriate' or 'politically incorrect' or even 'leaving your children open for abuse' I mean PLEASE...... And then not forgetting the Ha ha Ha instead of ho ho ho!Come on children see worse on the television and that's before the watershed goes out! Violent video games children play warp their minds and scare them more than ho ho ho!So what are your feelings about Santa? Do you still take your children to see Santa? Do you still let your children sit on Santa's knee What are your thoughts on the subject?

I always let my kids sit on Santats knee. That's half the magic of christmas time and It's sad to see that as time goes on, more and more politically correct nutjobs come up with stupid rules like not letting kids near santa. I reckon if you're there to see your kids meet santa then it's all good. As for changing the traditional Ho Ho Ho? they are nuts! nobody has EVER objected to it no matter what they personally believe so these people at the top need to sort themselves out and solve real problems like war and poverty. That's just my opinion on it.

Yes my youngest does and she most definitely sits on his knee - so do I for that matter! I couldn't agree ,ore with your opinion, yes our children are precious and need to be protected but come on , if your child is sitting on Santas knee you are right there beside them and anyway if something inappropriate is going to happen I want to sit on his knee! lol xxxx

Well Wolfie if my Kids age 23 and 20 still went to see Santa I would be worried about them lol I used to love taking them to see Santa The thing is though my Daughter who is the youngest stopped believing in Santa at the age of 5 (which upset me a bit lol) but she did not keep it to herself lol she told her whole Class at Playschool which set all the Kids of crying and caused grief lol and she told her Brother who got pretty upset about it and that started a row of Yep thats my Girl lol

I hope I haven't already responded to this.. =\ My son loves going to see santa, last year we introduced him to santa and it was like love at first sight. He was all smiley and happy, it's amazing what kids can pick up at a young age. this year he's been to see our local santa which was slightly a let down for me because it was a young guy in a suite and my son wasn't so happy to that santa. He'll be going derby soon, to see the worlds most realistic santa.. real beard, real white hair, real chub (big guy) and super friendly.. I'm hoping it's still the same guy. :) ~Joey Yes he does see santa still.. :P

I totally feel you here Wolfie!! Yes the times have changed, but in these instances?? The things that are causing this reaction were around 50 or 60 years ago, so whats the big deal now? I think it's a shame that kids can't sit on Santas lap and tell him what they want for Christmas. They are so excited and all giddy to see him in person. Whoever decided that Ho Ho Ho was inappropriate must be a Ho themselves. That is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of! If I had kids, then I would most definately take them to see Santa Clause, epsecially if they wanted to go! And I would ask him to Ho Ho Ho Merry Christmas me too! Bay Lay Gray xx

its really a very nice tradition for children to do every Christmas.Santa is not just there to give gifts and carry in his lap all the children waiting for him. visiting Santa is like kindling the children's imagination and positive view on Christmas. it can also be a tool in shaping their behavior and guiding them to be good kids. if I have a child I would definitely bring him to the mall where Santa is waiting every Christmas season. I never experienced it when I was a child because there were still no malls back then and no one dresses up as Santa. I guess it was just not in our tradition. but now that we have a mall in our town, and they make someone dress up as Santa just like last year, I would make it sure that I would introduce him to my kids if I will have any in the future. I would have brought there my little nephew but I didn't know then the schedule when Santa will appear. ^__^;; maybe next year.
