Don't worry I'm not advocating you will want a piece of my fur!I am talking about eating the skin off chickens and pigs? When it comes to cooking chicken or turkey or pork do you throw away the skin and crackling? Or do you enjoy eating it? Who in your family usually makes a grab for a nice bit of chicken skin or a lovely bit of crispy crackling pig skin? Or does everyone want it or no one?Bearing in mind this is probably the unhealthiest piece of the meat after it's cooked, bearing in mind also when the animal was alive that you are eating the skin part of it, rather than the meat. However I absolutely LOVE pork crackling! In fact we have pork virtually every Sunday because I love pork and I always take the crackling, mind you I have to be careful with my fangs! Its sooooo tasty and delicious and I leave it to the end after I've eaten my fill then I will devour the crackling So are you a skin person or do you prefer the breast and only the meat?

Okay.. I feel slightly ill from just reading/thinking about this. I'm not a meat person, I only eat what I need to because sometimes it's better to get some inside. apart from that I love ham and pork etc I wouldn't eat skin.. I'd prefer a nice piece of pork ~Joey

I always take the skin off of the meat and we hang it in the trees for the birds..This time of year especially they need extra fat to keep them warm. I hate to throw anything away unused so this way everything is used..The bones can be picked at by the small birds also.. oxoxxoxo

What about hungry wolves too! That's a great idea, we do that with bread and seeds for them xxx

No Wolfie, I always throw away the skin when we are eating chicken. We don’t cook pork at home and the chicken that we get fresh from the market is already skinned properly. Its only when I buy the frozen variety that I have to be careful of the skin and its quite tough removing it altogether. I have heard that the skin imparts a tasty crispy dash to the meat inside, but I somehow cant eat it nor do I let my son eat it. my hubby though can consume almost anything!

Hello my friend, it all depends on whether I am feeling "healthy" or not. If I am health conscious, I wouldn't eat the skins of course. Dump the skins! But quite often nowadays, I care less. I am just sick of this place. Fried crispy skins of pigs and chicken - and ducks - are very nice. I love sucking pigs which people eat mainly the skin. Have you tried it? It is not the usual pig or pig skin. It is considered a delicacy (more expensive) and usually found in Chinese restaurants. I simply love it.

I love skin from chicken, duck, pig, whatever!! Pigskin from a pig cooled in a pit is the best!! Yummmmm!! So bad for you I know! My other favorite is the burned fat off of a grilled steak!! Really Really bad for you but sooo good! Must be the Yugoslvian in me- we tend to eat a lot of meat and eat just about all the parts~ This is a fun discussion!

Here in our country that's a delicacy. Crispy deep-fried pig or chicken skin is called chicharon. I'm tired of eating the pork one, but the chicken - really yummy! We dip it in a sauce consisting of vinegar with garlic and chili.

I love pork skin especially pork cooked in a pit. It is the best part of the pork. I also enjoy the chicken skin when it is fried real crispy.
