So many choices, so little budget!

DSLR lenses - There are so many to choose from, that is just the lenses we are talking about.

There are so many to choose from, how do you know which one is the right one for you? I was looking around the net at DSLR and am overwhelmed by the sheer number of models and choices in the market! From the camera bodies to the lenses to the flashes... there are so many in the market! With all the jargon like metering, ISO, white balance, AF... etc, my head is spinning just reading reviews! There are so many to choose from! How in the world does one make a choice? The prices are also really steep too! How does one balance a budget and still get a reasonable SLR for starters?
