Where Did My Star Go?

Australia

Well, I did have my first star for writing, but yesterday, it disappeared! What's going on? My average rank is still in the top quarter! I think what happened was, and article title I started, got another article added to it. Well, the newest article has bumped me out of top spot and down to the bottom. Ok, so there are only 3 in total! lol. I don't like being a party pooper, but the article is barely about the title. Ok, so they had to give up a pet, but it doesn't go into what they felt or the guilt they have of doing it. That was supposed to be what the article is about, the guilt you feel from having to give up a pet. Oh well, I just gotta get cracking and write some more articles! Like that is hard for me! lol. So, what about you? Do feel down when you lose your stars? Discouraged even?

Sometimes I feel down when loosing stars and definitely discouraged. However, the more you write for Helium the prettier those little stars will become. I can tell you though, waiting to go from three to four feels like forever. You need 300 articles to get four stars! I am at 150 so I have a long ways to go!

LOL. You are way in front of me! I've been on Helium for just over 3 months and still only have 8 articles there! lol. Oh well, I've ticked over to $1 in earnings, so I'm happy with that!

Don't get discouraged, new. I know, easier said than done. There's an example of me not taking my own advice! LOL I do get frustrated when I lose my stars. There are many times that I look at articles that are rated above mine and can't figure out how they got rated that way. I'm not saying I'm the best writer in the world, but it just bugs me when there are clear reasons why the others are not better. I hope that made sense! I have a new strategy. I'm trying to write on articles that are new. That way I have at least a chance of staying at the top. That does give more chance to drop quickly, though. Anyway, don't give up. You've got a great attitude that I know will bring your stars back quickly!

As always happens when I have a winge, the blasted star was back again! lol. I know what you mean about some articles not having the rank they deserve. I've had to sent a couple to admin as they were clearly in breech. I mean, they were all caps, and not just for creative writing, or they were just 1 sentence! And they have the higher ranks? Please...like they can be called an article. I've started a title of my own, and been bumped to the bottom out of 3. Not good, especially when the newest article wasn't really about the titles to begin with.

I'm rating more than writing now, and finding it to be quite fun. I have had to flag a whole heap of articles though, which I don't like having to do, but they were way off topic.

I've been flagging a lot of articles as I am rating lately. I'm just getting fed up with seeing the garbage like you describe. I want Helium to be a really great site, not just somewhere to go for anyone to make money. It needs to be something people really put effort into, in my opinion.
