I guess, ABS-CBN was starting then (after being redeemed back by Kapitan Geny Lopez) in 1986, when faces like Richard Gomez, Carmina Villaroel, Cynthia Patag, etc. were plugging an upcoming sitcom. It used to play every Tuesday (I guess). I remember really watching the said sitcom because I have been a Carmina Villaroel fan. :) Anyways, I remember imitating Carmina back then – even super duper expression. I was in elementary when the Gwapings came and my very favorite then was Eric Fructuoso. I heart Eric back then because he was really such a cutie. I was saddened by the fact that Carmina left the said sitcom because of the rivalry between the Yllanas and Padillas (Carmina was then committed to Rustom Padilla). She eventually left Douglas Quijano’s den. Douglas Quijano used to manage the gwapings, Richard Gomez, Joey Marquez and John Estrada. There was an episode when Carmina guested in the show (I was able to watch that, I guess, I was already in college) – that was like right after Carmina called it quits with Rustom Padilla. Anyways, PALIBHASA LALAKE is one of the longest running sitcom on philippine tv, which was aired in Channel 2 (ABS-CBN) from 1986 to 1998. The original casts were Joey Marquez, Richard Gomez, Gloria Romero, Cynthia Patag, Amy Perez, Carmina Villaroel and Apa Ongpin. Over the years, many characters entered in the said show like like Miguel Rodriguez, Rene Requiestas ,John Estrada Later entrees were the Gwapings--Mark Anthony Fernandez, Jomari Yllana, and Eric Fructuoso, and later Jao Mapa joined. The following also joined the said sitcom in the 90s: Lindsay Custodio, Rica Peralejo, Jacqui Manzano, and Regine Tolentino. But with the entry of Anjo Yllana, who played Tikboy, a different kind of spice was added to the show. So, with that story who was your favorite Palibhasa Character?
