I listed a candle holder, and got a email from someone in Hong Kong requesting I ship there. I responded I will research, and contact you back in 24 hours. Well, this person purchase it before I respond. They have not paid, and I have not send a invoice yet. I would like to make the sale, but I am uneasy with this purchase. Any ideas, how to handle this?

You do have the right to refuse to ship the item to purchaser. Next time you should make sure in your listing that you state "Do not ship outside the US" and make sure that in the section where you input the shipping cost that you do not include international shipping. You can go on the USPS website and find out how much it would cost to ship, etc. I would only do the transaction through paypal with a verified address. Paypal is not going to send you money unless they know it is good. Be careful though because sometimes PayPal will not transfer money into your account until you notify them the item shipped and you give them a tracking number.

I will check further, but I did put I only ship to the U.S. and the buyer knew that.

You don't have to ship to countries outside your preferences. Can I suggest you tighten up your selling preferences for future listings.

I have shipped overseas before but I usually list my items as only shipping in North America...Like the other poster asked though, what exactly makes you uneasy about it?
