Well, the news is GOOD. He had his colonoscopy on the 28th and everything was fine. The bleeding has stopped since using medication the doctor gave him. So he is good to go. Speaking of which... He leaves next Monday the 10th. So close and I am in tears already. He will go to Camp Atterbury here in Indiana till the 22nd and is supposed to get to come home on the 22 till January 2.(We will see if that happens). They then will ship out to a place in Georgia and will sit there until they leave for Iraq. He says they are being told that it will be sometime early January but they could sit there as long as until April. Families here are very upset that they are being taken so far away to wait when Camp Atterbury is about 75 miles away. We might get to see a little of them if they were kept there but by sending them to Georgia we won't see them again after January 2. Thank you all for your prays and best wishes for him. I have told him about joining this site and he is really glad I will have a place to turn to for support as his wife and I don't see eye to eye on very much. I am sure I will be turning to all of you over the next year and I appreciate your being there for me. Hugs to all.

Thank you so much Jill, you are truly a good friend. I just can't tell you how stressful this month has been. If there were a way I could go do this for him I would, and buddy watch out terrorist because Mommy is tired and fed up. LOL

I'm so glad his health news is good. I can't imagine being so scared for someone that is so close to you. I also can't imagine the frustration on his family's part that he will be in the U.S. still, but so far away. That's not fair, but like my dad told me early on, life is not fair. I'll be praying for his safety, and also for things to come about that you get to see him more often than you think you will before he ships out.

Maybe sitting on that back porch bundled up, will bring you some silent peace.

I am glad to hear that the news was good. I don't live far from Attebury and that is a good base so I have heard. I don't understand why they couldn't wait there but who knows when it comes to the military. I have a friend who says the Army motto should be Hurry Up and Wait and I think that is about right. I hope that you get to see him as long as they say and I hope that he doesn't sit in Georgia until April. Is he going to fort Stewart? That is a nice base as I have friends who have been there. Tell him that he is still in our prayers and that we will all be here for you!!

Thank you so much. Yes it is Fort Stewart. I couldn't remember the name he told me but knew it wasn't Ft. Benning. I know that he is grateful for every prayer I relay to him from my friends here. He says just keep them coming. LOL. I am sure I will need all the support I can get in the next long months. Hugs

Glad he checked out ok! The Power of Prayer is a wonderful thing! That doesn't make too much sense why they would have them wait so far away. Anytime that you need a shoulder to lean on feel free to lean on mine. I've never experienced anyone besides my brother serving, but knew he was always out of harms way, since he is a aircraft mechanic.
