we are at a super modern, high-technology age and i must say i was deceive when i first saw the trailer. i thought it was a live person but hey, its an animated motion capture film. ms jolie was 3months pregnant when it was filmed and who knows whats more behind the film. so i cant help but wonder, what if all of the film will be animated and just have the faces of the popular hollywood actors? would you like it? i do appreciate the new technology but hey i still like the old fashion way of filming.

Yes, more movies will be following the footsteps of Robert Zemeckis's Beowulf. In 2009, there will be more movies released in 3D and with IMAX formats to boot. Examples are the new Shrek movie and James Cameron's Avatar, which uses for the first time, his company's new motorized IMAX camera. For those who are not familiar with it, it works much like the current IMAX camera with two lenses. But Cameron's camera has he two lenses with a distance from one another that approximates the normal distance between the two eyes of human beings, thus approximating the visual depth of human sight. The lenses are also motorized, which means they can move just like our eyes to compensate for the distance of the subject being filmed, much like our eyes do! This eliminates eye compensation during viewing. The adjustments are automatically done by the camera during shooting. It's going to be a whole new experience in movie making. One day, all movies will be made that way and with motion capture and surface texturing technology reaching new levels, we may one day watch a movie without even knowing that the characters are animated. It's happening right now, although you still can tell by the way the characters move that they are not real. You can check out details on 3D movies in my Hots Up Blogger blog. You can find the link in my i-Mash blog in my profile.

I forgot to mention that in 2009, some companies, like Phillips, will be releasing commercial television sets that show pictures in 3D. There's no need for special glasses to view the shows. The technology makes use of composite screen layers. I forgot to mention before that it's possible that "Godzilla 3D" will be available in IMAX format in 2009. There's also Tim Burton's stop-motion "Frankenweenie" which will also be in 3D. Visit Hots Up in Blogger for more stuff about 3D entertainment. See my profile for the links.
