Saving or Spending?

The bank needs to eat too! - Save it for the piggy bank to decide. Teach your children to save and not to spend every licking cent they see.

Did your parents teach you to save or spend every licking cent you get? I know that mine where the parents that where like you can save or spend but I always saved and when I had a lot I would buy something and still save way more than I should of had at that age, but yet I wouldn't spend a cent that I didn't really want too with out thinking all the way around the box of what I could get with that cold hard cash. But my brother fell into the spending death trap, of when he gets his pay check he always the first one to spend the first 50 bucks out of it. When I'm the last one to spend the first 5 bucks out of my family. So I was just wandering if the parents of the MyLotters got thought the values of saving? Another question is will you teach your children to save? Will you just let them pick which way they want to go?

I grew up in a home that constantly had shut off notices and disconnections all the time. My parents had a hard time saving their money and spending it on items that weren't really necessary. When I moved out on my own, I actually taught myself how to budget and save money. That's one goal that I have for my own kids so it's not a surprise when they are older! I think that I'm going to let them spend some of it but they must save alittle as well.

Smart idea because my brother that didn't control his spending now that he's in college is having a hard time not spending and not going out to spend money all the time. Nice to know that I'm not the only one who will teach their children to save a little but save some too!
