How Many "cyber" friends have you made?

I know we are all friends here on MyLot and all, but how many are you close cyber friends - whether from MyLot or elsewhere? I sold a set of kids books to a lady and she commented that they are for her grand daughter that is coming for the summer, and one comment back and forth and 2 years later, we are close as if we'd met in person! We have found we not only have so much in common, but things in our lives are identical too! She is 10 years older than me, and we have never talked on the phone, just email and "letters" ( you know those things that come in the mail box!) and it just seems like we've ben friends for literally years and years!
I met another lady - about same age, but our lives have been so differnet, but we both love our kids - grown kids - and we met trying to learn about earning money online with different venues and she helped me immensly in alot of ways with this online stuff, and I hope I have helped her a lot and we compare what we have learned and learn from each other. Her 2 boys are in the military and my 2 kids(girl and boy) are both police officers so we have that in common and can relate and just have a very nice "cyber" friendship -

I don't have any other than in mylot. I used to belong to another chat site similar to mylot and I had about 500 friends there, on my list. But I found that to be way too many, so now here in mylot I am going to keep it down to a select few. I have accepted about 50 requests right now but I am going through them, slowly I might add, to cut that number down about half. I think to have good friends you have to pick the ones you want to chat with for awhile.

I couldn't be very intimate online friends with that many. I also quit the site and now I am only working mylot. I will keep my friends at a more managable amount this time, so I can be and have, very good friends. I think I will enjoy it that way better.

Just a handful over the past 30 years if we are talking about those online "buddies" whome I didn't know in real life before computers were inv ented and whom I've actually gone so far as to meet in person or exchange phone numbers. I am pretty conservative as to friends, so if they are just IM/e-maail/social networking "friends" that is not exactly "best buds."

Amoung the social sites I go on: Myspace, mylot and yuwie, I have a combined total of 5,000+ friends on lists. I don't actually talk to all of them, but I'll small talk with 500+, and talk to on a regular basis with about 20 of them.

That's interesting. I have a great cyber-friend whose grown kids are police officers and my grown kids are in the military! She's helped me quite a lot online, too! She's a terrific person who loves to talk about two special little girls in her life - and I love to hear all about them since I don't have grandkids yet. I consider her a very good friend! She's the one who invited me to join here on myLot, in fact. Small, world, isn't it?!
