store ripen kiwi at room temperature for only 3 to 5 days. You can store them longer in the refrigerator for 7 days. If that is not long enough for you to store them, Put them in a zip lock plastic bag in refrigerator and they will be good for 2 weeks. If you put kiwi near apples, bananas or pears you speed up the ripening process. So if you want your kiwi to ripen within a day or two put your kiwi in a bag with these fruit in the refrigerator.

Thanks lizzy, this is very useful information. I live alone and one of the problems when buying kiwis is that the go awry very fast. And apples and bananas are the other fruits that I buy more often and put them all in the same fruit bowl. Wish I knew this sooner.

Sorry about that. I didn't think of adding the fruit word to it. I guess I was thinking when I go to the store to buy some it does says "kiwi" so I didn't think anyone would get confussed thinking I was talking about the bird. I don't anything about the bird, I just love this fruit, and wanted to help others that love it too.
