Recently, some people on the internet claimed Santa Claus's figure ought to be changed, as his fat figure may mislead children into considering fatness as a healthy life style and the children may say"even Mr.Santa is fat!" Then i have two questions. who created the figure of Santa Claus and when did he do that? why did he create Santa Claus as a man rather than a women?

Santa Claus as he's known commercially was invented in the early part of the 20th century. It was highly unlikely that a woman would become Santa Claus, because the character is based on St Nicholas (and other variations of that person). As for the fat issue: Santa Claus isn't obese, he's just fat. So what? Some people need to get a life.
