I hereby nominate our VillageAnne as our resident taking care of all of us person. Who seconds the nomination. You win, thanks so much for the link. I am not in any of those states but I do know some of our fellow mylotians will be happy about finding out this info. We have HEAP where I live, that helps with the energy cost for heat in the winter months. There are also programs for seniors with other issues. Most people don't know there are programs out there like this. I hope this link is helpful to some of us.

oh wow! thanks for posting this! We live in NY and I gotta tell ya, the cost of living here in general is UNREAL but our heating bills were insane last yr and its supposed to be even worse this yr :-/ We just went out and bought a pellet oven (which we are having nothing but trouble with actually) and we've been using the Kerosene heater too but even the cost of kerosene is getting nuts ya know...
I'll definately have to pass this on to my husband and see if we are eligable *sp* or whatever
+s for you! YOU ROCK!

I was wondering why North Dakota and Montana are not on the list. They get rather cold during the winter and I have heard that this winter is going to be particularly cold. They are considered to be in the Prairies or the Northern Plains and I have heard in the past of blizzards blanketing the country. I wonder if it is because they are more sparsely populated, but is not Alaska also in the same boat?

I really dont know why they chose the states that they did. I wondered why West Virginia was not on the list. Virginia was but now West Virginia.

You do realize that 1-877-Joe is Joe Kennedy right? lol...just checking! Yes, it's good for people to know that most states do provide help for those who need it during the winter months. If the need is there they can also get help with utility bills and should check with their respective companies to find out about it if they haven't already. Great discussion and very informative.

Figures this won't help me since my state is listed.
Citgo could quit posting billions of dollars in profits and help out everyone by cutting gas prices. I might actually use Citgo stations if they did that.

I wish they would try to find a way to reduce fuel costs as well. I dont need help to pay my bills but I sure wish there was some money left over after they were all payed to do something else.
Dont get me wrong, I am glad they are helping people. I think we are all feeling the crunch of how all our bills went up this year.
