What do you usually have for your noche buena feast?

I miss home a lot! My folks are living in the province and I miss them an awful lot and when I feel this way, I think about food we always share. Our usual noche buena fare is pasta, kakanin, chocolate cake, paella, a salad (variety depends on my mom's mood :)), a hot chocolate drink, and more!

hello there to U...it's really sad if you're far away from your family... CHRISTMAS time is the best time of the year for the whole family...and it's really great if you'll spend your time with your family during this time...because this is the only time that families are bonding together...it's really really sad because according to you, you missed them so much, and you can't be with them...you just have to pray for your family's good health and feel the real essence of CHRISTMAS even if you're far away from them...talking about food, my mom usually cook spaghetti, salad, suman, leche flan, chicken adobo, fruit cake, etc...it's a wonderful feeling being with your family during CHRISTMAS...it's important if we'll not forget the true meaning of CHRISTMAS, which is JESUS CHRIST birth and great love for us...so let's love one another sharing the true meaning of it...thanks for sharing this kind of discussion to us...have a blessed day ahead of you, advance MERRY CHRISTMAS, and may GOD BLESS U & UR family always!!!

thanks for your replies...Christmas is really a great time to be with our families. I am lucky I could be with them, and for those far from their families, I really feel for them and hope next Christmas will be all better...

Gosh this year would be my first time to spend christmas without my family. I'm here right now in the US and they told me Christmas here is not anything like how it is in the Philippines even if you have almost all your relatives here. Spaghetti, salad, whole chicken and fruits I'm sure won't be missing this year though in our noche buena. :) Have a nice one :D

Merry Christmas. Me, I miss my Mom, it's been 2 years since she passed away, Dec 19, 2005. We still miss her. This christmas we'll be having the food she used to cook for us like spaghetti, roast chicken, Salad, Tiramisu.

We have a lot of food in our table. Just like you have mentioned. Some pasta, salads, fruits, cooked root crops like camote or sweet potato, cakes, roasted pig or lechon, juice, ham and more yummy foods. We also call some of our needy neighbors to join us eat. My mother used to prepare hot chocolate or pure chocolate drink from cacao. Now she can't because she had a stroke, her half body is still not working well. But I am so happy to celebrate Christmas with the whole family again this year.
