Hello All,
Do you, or do you know anyone who uses satellite internet? Dish, DirectTV, or Hughesnet? Our current internet service provider is so slowwww and unreliable. Yet, we can't just switch to any old provider because we live out in the sticks. Our only choices are our rinky dink telephone co-op or satellite.
So, what do you think about satellite internet?
Is it reliable? We know that it will be unaccessible in big storms, but what about upload and download speeds when it's not stormy?
Are there any hidden costs?
What do you like most about satellite internet?
What do you like least?
Thanks, I'm looking forward to your input.

I haven't tried satellite internet yet but just got Direct tv and am loving it! I've been checking into the satellite for my internet but haven't come to a decision about it yet.

Hello Ctrymuziklvr,
We've had satellite t.v. for many years. Geesh, it's the only way we can get any t.v. signal out here in the sticks. We love it. Yet, we're hesitant to sign up for satellite internet because it's an 18 month commitment, and because it is more expensive.
Do you currently have dial-up? If I may ask, why are you considering satellite internet?
Thanks!
