There was a really good article in a past issue of the Beijing Review about how no country has a higher education facility for peace. We have the Navel Academy, the Air Force Acad. , West Point and more.. most colleges also have an rotc program.. we teach war.. what we and all countries lack is an institute to teach peace, to teach arbitration, cooperation, negotiation.. the formation of such an institute of higher learning might have an impact to end terrorism and war. The current "war against terrorism" is a complete sham.. a failure from the start.. you cannot unnmake a terrorist.. only time can heal the wounds of war and aggression. We were led into war with lies about weapons of mass destruction (there were none) we did not send Condi Rice to help negotiate until Israel had time to try to kill off the Hezbollah (who by the way are a legally and democratically elected part of the Palistine government.. so where do we get off claiming we are trying to spread democracy?) Don't get me wrong, I am not anti Israel.. I believe they have a right to protect themselves.. I also believe that all nations need to teach peace, negotiations, arbitration, compromise, and learn to respect each other.

Yes education and that too specialised education is a real good way. There could have been so much progress had our govts wanted. Feels like there are high level things going on which we dont have access to.
