I watched a show last night about the origins of Christianity and investigates the possibility the religion originated or evolved from Egyptian Paganism. They discovered things that were mirrored in the Christian religion two thousand years later. The depiction of Madonna and child, the crucifixion and other things ..... This isn't the first time I hear of stories, parables and such, that first appeared in other religions. What do you think of this?

All religions are similar. I am not surprised they share the same stories.

I have a great deal of respect for some religions and I'm fascinated by the origins and practices of them.

I think that most religions are the same, with variations made by people who wanted things to be their way. If you look at the basic principles of most major religions, you will find that the foundation is identical and the structure is very similar. The differences are in the details. For instance, all believe in a supreme being. Some believe it is God, others believe in Allah, others believe in multiple dieties. All have principles meant to guide behavior. The exact principles different, but have similar ideas in them. All of these facts make me draw the conclusion that all began as one, and evolved into different religions as people evolved and changed.

I hope it's on again. I would like the opportunity to sit, uninterrupted, and watch the entire thing It was really interesting and fed my curiosity well.
