Has anyone ever thrown a surprise party for you? My friends and I are always throwing surprise parties for someone. Through the years I have probably thrown 25 surprise parties or more. I think I would like it, we always have fun for everyone elses birthday. What about you? Anyone ever thrown a party for you? Did you enjoy it? Have you yourself ever thrown a surprise party for anyone else?

Oh, don't remind me of surprise parties! I had one for my daughter for her 16th b-day. I got with her best friend and asked for 10-20 people's addresses to invite. This was about a month prior. No responses. 2 weeks before I asked her for more - she gave me another 10. Still no RSVP's. She had 3 close GF's and one said she couldn't come because of something stupid (I thought good grief, this is your best friend's 16th B-day, and that other thing is more important?) anyway, she did take my daughter to the mall after school and brought her home for the "surprise" part, and then left -literally. Didn't even stay for 10 minutes! The other one never showed up and her most BF stayed and one boy showed up that wasnt' a close friend, just "part of the group" of friends. That was it. Those 2 were all that showed up for her birthday - she was devistated! I felt so sorry for her! I took her out hte next day and let her pick out a new outfit. She never quite got over that!

When I turned 40, my husband threw a surprise party for me. It was really nice. We had planned on just one couple coming over and spending the evening together. Ended up having my entire family and a few friend over. It was a huge surprise. Of course it was the night I decided to just bumb around because this other couple were such good friends so I looked like a total scum.
Then I had a surprise party for my husband when he turned 40~ yes, he is younger than I am. I drew him a bubble bath, gave him a bottle of champagne and told him that he had time to himself while the kids and I got dinner ready. While the guests were arriving, I think he drank the whole bottle of champagne. I sent my son in to tell him dinner was almost ready and he came out in his robe:) It was so funny! I had invited tons of our friends and family.
