Candles to heat?

Just noticed lately that on the bottom of one of my glass jar candles, it reads "Housewarmer Candle". I did notice, before it got really cold, that the heat would kick on less while I have this candle burning. Think it really works, or I am just imagining things? Could you use candles to keep the heating bill down? If so, I should ask for candles for Christmas!

its like one BTU I think probly something like a human resting or a lightbulb yes, if you get into a small space and use lamps, other people, candles, or whatever then it does heat you pretty much oil or coal are the chepest ways though in very very cold places where they have no money, sometimes they get a box and put a candle in it, a metal one, then cover up with a blankey to keep the heat in personaly I want a very large fireplace that burns lots of wood plenty warm and plenty pretty too

Yes a fireplace or even a woodburner would be nice. I had a woodburner in my home for years until the chimney had to be torn down. Then I put in gas heat. Maybe my next home will have another woodburner or fireplace.

I don't think so, i think thats just the name of the candle like there are different candles you can buy as gifts for different things, maybe yours was for people moving into a new house?
