Do you listen to what the doctor says? I do most of the time but I'm glad that I didn't in this case. My daughter's digestive system was very mature so she developed a herinated belly button. By the time she came home it was huge. It would make her little clothes stick out and I didn't want people to point it out so I asked the doctor if there was anything I could do to help it. All of the doctors told me to leave it alone that she would probably out grow it before she started school. I thought that was an awful long time. I had a lot of different people telling me old wives tales but I was kind of leary of them. She was sent home on a heart monitor. For the heart monitor to work they gave me velcro straps. I had an extra one so I decided to put it around her belly button....with in 2 weeks it was back to normal. I was very relieved.

Doctors are not always right, i think today they just don't take the time to really check things out, I have two friends who were treated for things just recently but when they went to get a second opinion they were actually suffering serious illnesses, one of them was treated for an earache when in actual fact she was experiencing the start of a stroke...

My family came from the old country, and they believed in all of the home remedies, and were always reluctant to listen to Dr.s anyway! And sometimes it pays to listen to them, but then again I've seen times when you don't listen to them, or get another opinion!
Yes, I've seen this bellybutton problem before, my mother used a quarter (with tape) to wear over it until the bellybutton went back in!

I did put the quarter on her belly button but the tape irritated her skin. I didn't like the way it was doing her skin so I took it off. I left it on there for about a week or so and I never saw any results from it except her skin from the tape. I even tried the bandage tape that doesn't hurt when you pull it off. I've heard it works though....it just didn't work for me. Have a great day.

I try very hard to listen but somtimes it is better just to try to heal yourself, old home remedies do work in some cases. Sounds like you healed your daughter yourself and she didn't have to wait for school age. Good Job!!

I do believe some of the home remedies work. My grandma and grandpa live off of herbs, home remedies and such. They don't like taking medicine they get from the doctor. I think they know what every herb is for....lol. It's nice to have someone like them around because I learn a few things from them. Have a great day.
