Do you stick to your resolutions?

I know I have had trouble in the past sticking to my New Year's resolutions. For some reason, I do good for the first month or two into the new year, and then all of a sudden, all heck breaks loose and I tend to loose focus. I know I'm not the only one who does this, so tell us about it!! ~~Taz~~

Well, things are not always going on as planned and it is not easy to stick on the New Year's resolutions. I know that something new always happens and I don't make big resolutions for the New Year. Just thinking of some plans that later in I let them happen.

Good idea Estina. Maybe we should all just let things happen as they may and not stress ourselves out over the little things. Lol!!

whenever i'd make a new year's resolution i'd end up breaking it the next day! it was always to lose weight though.. and yeah, haha. it just never worked so i've given up on them. but last year i didn't make a resolution and i ended up losing 20lbs from june to october. :]

thanks for your sharing. you remind me of making a resolution. Often,i have no new yera's resolution. but i know we have to make one and stick to it. the resolution can lead you to your aim efficiently. i think it is a great habit for one to make resolutions.Although some of us feel hard to stick to them.Maybe the reason we can\t stick to is we donit get habitted.

I do the exact same thing as you do! It makes me so mad too! Becuase every now and then you try to get back to the first couple months that you were so on top of it and you can't. Then you just kinda give up and add it to your next years resolution. Lol

Nope, I dont even bother making them. Waste of time. What is going to happen will happen. If you are meant to be 30 lbs overweight then you will be.

I don't think i've ever stuck to my New Year's resolution. Every year I say i'm going to go to the gym more or lose a couple of punds but I never do it. This year I my resolution is to not have a resolution because I will not stick to any other one. At least in 2008 I will finally stick to my resolution.

when i was younger i used to make resolutions all the time when the new year comes. but yeah, i did have trouble sticking to them, i usually don't follow..some i achieve and some i don't. but that doesn't stop me from keeping and having goals in life and working towards achieving them, in my own pace :)

I read something once about how making new years resolutions shouldn't be done just at the new year. You should just start the resolution when you want to, because then it's easier to carry out. Like if you were trying to quit smoking, start today rather than January 1st and you'll accomplish your goal better. I don't make new years resolutions. That's how i achieve them.

I have never made New Years resolutions and so many people have talked about having this problem. Rather then dealing with this I have just avoided it. Though to be completely honest I often have this problem with goals in general that are made throughout the year. I have thought about making some resolutions this year...but how to stick with it?

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. Usually I try not to make resolutions that I know I wouldn't be able to stick with. Few years ago I decided to go on a diet and it had really worked because I had lost some 13kg in 2 months. I was so happy about it but in some 8 or 10 months I got 6kg back and I can't lose those six as hard as I try.

Yes !!!!!!!!! I used to do that all the time. I got to the point now that I don't make them anymore. I started a new method some years ago that works so much better. I started evaluating my year and doing the pro and con thing and what ever was a constant thorn in my side all year I dropped it from my list and kept all positive things.
