First, I just want to say that this discussion don't mean anything special. So don't take it serviously. Nothing, I just want to say I'm Chinese. Sometimes when I see the other people's discussions in mylot, I always want to know where they come from. There are so many counties that I never heard before, so I'm very interested in know more infromation. Your county, your most like place, something specail in your living place, which country do you want to visit...so many things you can share with us in mylot. So, I'm Chinese. What about you? Are you also a Chinese or a Frenchman? American? Indian? Japanese?...welcom to share with us. ^_^

I am a true blue Aussie, I live in Melbourne and I love it, I like our easy going life here. I am looking so forward to seeing a lot more about China through the Oplympic games broadcasts, I think the ceremonies are going to be something else and I am hoping they show a lot of China as well.

Hey, lilaclady! I just went to a convention in Melbourne a few days ago and just came back from it yesterday. Melbourne is a nice place, but what strikes me most about the place is it's similarity to Kuala Lumpur (I'm from Malaysia by the way, currently living in Adelaide) in terms of the traffic and hustle bustle life in the city. Also, I notice there's like a plague of flies in the scenic areas of Melbourne such as at the 12 Apostles area. I've never seen and experienced so many flies in my life! =)

I'm a Malaysian Chinese, so I'm not much different from you. It's interesting that you want to know where other members come from, because to be honest, I had the same idea to some time ago but just to lazy to start a new discussion about that.... My favourite place: Australia Something special in my living place: Quietness and calmness =) Countries I want to visit: Korea, US, China, Middle East By the way, can't think of anything else to share right now....will share when I'm reminded of this post! =)

I am Scottish born and bred and so were all my ancestors - well at least as far back as I can trace. I live near Edinburgh which is the capital of Scotland and a very beautiful city. I've travelled quite a lot and been to most of the countries in Europe and also West Africa. I haven't been to China yet although I am currently toying with the idea of going there next year to walk part of the Great Wall. I've just recently completed a series of articles on Chinese culture and traditions and it sounds like a fascinating country.

Hello there. I am a Chinese from Singapore. Singapore is a young nation. We have people from 4 main races - Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian. We all live harmoniously here in Singapore. Even though I am a Chinese, I speak English language most of the time as English is the main language here. I am visiting Shanghai in a few weeks time. I hope I can enjoy myself there. I have not been to China before and that will be my first time. Of all the countries I've visited before, the country I love most is Japan. It has friendly people, nice scenery, clean environment and nice, healthy food. =D

I met a group of American students coming for an internationl English debate tournament this year and we debated together. Such an memorable exprience. There is one thing noticeable that they were all amazed by the differences between the China shown on the TV the one in real eyes. Hope you can soon come to China and have a look at this evilised communist country.

Thank you for starting this discussion as it brings all of us, (well those of us myLotters up at this late hour)to the holiday table so to speak . . . I live in northeast Ohio with three cats and it is so cold outside I am drinking hot tea. China is such an interesting place with all the intricate detail on much of the architecture. I would like to visit someday if budget allows but being a writer, dedicated to my passion, I stay just-over-broke and work as an entrepreneur, caterer, hospitality management assistant, spiritual counselor, artist, poet and whatever else I can find that will earn me some income and allow me to be as creative as possible ! It is pleasure meeting you here at myLot and have a wonderful holiday. BTW how is Xmas celebrated in China ??? sharing the light and happy holidays, Miss Erica Hidvegi, the Enlightenment_Advisor, B.A. Psych/M.A. Transpersonal Studies- Cnslng/Author, Artist, Photographer, Entrepreneur & Freelance extraordinaire www.enlightenment-psych.net

yeah, in fact, I have the same feeling with you. But I still believe that our troditional festivels won't disappear...I can't tell why, just believe...
• China
23 Dec 07
I would also like to say a few words about how Christmas is celebrated in China. Maybe there is something you will find it hard to notice because Christmas is indeed your own traditional festival. However, for China and some other non-christian civilisations, underlying the Christmas is the expansion of western culture and values. Now quite a lot young people in China prefer Christmas to our trodictional festivel - the spring festivel, though these people are still in minority, but this group will grow as time passes by.

I am Brazilian and I live in state of Paraiba in a city called Joao Pessoa and I love living here! Joao Pessoa is tre extreme eastern point of continental Brazil as well as Americas! What means that the sun rises up here everyday. Joao Pessoa is the second greenest city of the world (first one is Paris) what means that here you can breath pure air. It is like the music says: "I live in a tropical country that is blessed by God and beautiful naturally." You can see more of my city here: http://www.world66.com/southamerica/brazil/joaopessoa Bye!

I'm 100% Filipino. I am currently residing here in the Philippines and like most of the respondents I have a long list of countries I want to travel to. What's so good about my country? hmmm... Many Filipinos choose to live elsewhere to search for greener pastures but the Philippines isn't all that bad. The Philippines is filled with many places worth visiting and the food and delicacies are to die for. Traveling to the Philippines isn't much costly because of the low cost of living here.
