Has anyone done a T-shirt quilt? It is where you cut the front of decorative T-shirts into squares and use them as the quilt squares. I have the instructions from HGTV, but would like to hear from someone that has done it before. I have not been very good at seewing that double knit type of fabric. Thanks for any tips

I've been tempted to try it, but haven't yet.... I have tons of t-shirts that could be used - you know, the ones with a stain somewhere on them that you don't want to wear in public! lol! They could easily be used for a t-shirt quilt. I've never done much sewing on double knit either, so I'm not sure how it would turn out. I'll have to check out HGTV and see if I can find the instructions too.

I am working on one from my granddaughters - each of them. They have these cute little shirts with sayings on and cute designes and since they out grow them so fast theya re great to use for this. They each had matching shirts and ones like "my Daddy loves me". So I was goig to make the quilts of all these. HGTV has instructions, but I wanted to hear from someone that has done it for the tips from the fingers kind of thing! I saw Craft Lab do one, and it looked pretty rinky-dinky and I wanted mine to look nicer than that. I guess I'll just give it a try and see what happens.
