It has occurred to me that, even though anime is one of the rising interest in South East Asia (SEA) countries but i do rarely see products of anime in these countries. Especially when it comes to Manga and merchandises. I'm an avid manga collecter but it's really a pain in the butt to import it from US (which cost a lot!) and Anime DVDs/Vcds (the original ones not the pirated one) are also hard to find. Do you believe that Anime/Manga business in these countries are not recognized and not really in demand?

I'm also at South East Asia and Anime/Manga availability is also something that I'm aware of. It really is expensive when you get it from lisenced distributors and though, there are a lot of fans here in our country, attending conventions and cosplay events, it is really odd that nobody has yet taken it for business. I mean a local publishers to translate the mangas into our own language or official studios dubbing anime series or OVAs and sell them too. There are rampant piracies like video CDs and DVDs. Manga books are too pricey for my pockets too. So I just settle on downloading them. Scanlated or FanSubbed by fans. And the only way I could give my share would be to seed them again. At least a two ratio. Anime merchendise however, is really catchy though. From action figures, display figurines, accessories and other items related to anime are well known. But beware of countrfiets.
