I am thinking to be a pure vegetarian, and I found this article when browsing online. I am a seafood eater by nature so not eating meat is not a big problem for me, but not eating seafood and relying on vegetables only, is going to require a lot of efforts. Anyway I will start working on it, dinosaurs did it, sure I can do it too :):)

Not all dinosaurs were vegetarian. The theropods were meat eaters.
As of the seafood, dinosaurs did not ea sea plants. Dinosaurs were land creatures only.
You say that if dinosaurs did it, it's a good reason to do it? Maybe you should remember dinosaurs came extinct (at least most of them... birds evolved from a dinosaur branch).

every living being will come extinct when the time comes. I didn't say I do it because dinosaurs did it. I said I can do it, if dinosaurs who were originally carnivores, could do it. I never said dinosaurs eat seafood.

Why do you want to become a vegetarian? Are you really prepared for the changes? Do you know it is not healthy to not have protein in your diet? Do you know you will have to get your protein from other foods? There is no vitamin that is protein. Anyways, I'm not trying to convince you not to become a vegetarian, I am just trying to get you to think of problems that are associated with it. And to ask you why after all these years you would want to change what you eat? This is a big decission to make that I think you might want to talk to your doctor about before making your final decission.

yes I will see an expert for this if necessary. I grew up eating seafood more than meat because in my homeland it's cheaper than meat. So not eating meat is not a big deal for me, but I will have problems not eating seafood at all. I will still drink milk, but will increase my intake on fruit juices and yoghurt plus quite a variety of vitamins and supplements. There are a couple of mylotters who have been vegetarians all their lives or at least a big part of it, so I know that given time and efforts I can do it too. I'm not much of a meat eater to begin with anyway.

Not all dinosaurs did :-) Why don't you want to eat meat? It's not all meat that's bad for you - chicken and turkey are very healthy.

no nothing about disease. I'm sure they have enough precaution here when it comes to bird flu, mad cow etc It's just how I was raised, meat was expensive at the time, while shrimp, fish, crab are available abundant

Mel, it is easier than you think. Just think about how healthy it will be for your body to eat more vegetables and fruits.
For sure try to eat more nuts. My favorite are pine nuts and walnuts, but I eat some nuts every day.
During the winter dried fruits are good too. Try apricots and apples.

I love red kidney beans. They mix well with vegetable dishes. I'll try dried fruits
