Well vit C is a good standby..I take Defend and Resist Complex which has standardized extracts of Echinacea, Black Elderberry, and Larch Tree with immunoactive arabinogalactans to stimulate the body's natural resistance during winter.. Zinc helps support healthy immune functions too. I also take NutriFeron which naturally activates the production of your body’s own interferon. With its patented combination of four plant extracts, it revs your natural immune system and increases your resistance safely and naturally. This supplement was developed by Dr. Kojima who discovered Interferon which today is used for treating from cancer to aids and more..You can find these at www.NoToxGreen.Com under nutrition. xoxoxoxoxo

I take vitamin C daily as a preventative measure and that helps a lot. If I feel something coming on I take echnecia (not sure on spelling) and that helps get over a cold pretty quick as well.

I been doing this for years when i get a cold and a sore throat i always make myself a hot cup of green tea with lemond and honey. It works all the time. My sore throat feels better in no time.Another thing that works for a cold and sore throat is rubbing some mentholatum ointment on you neck and wraping a warm towel around it.

Thanks for that cold remedy. A deep salt gargle when you feel the cold coming on will drive the cold away. I have also used another simple remedy. Mix pepper with a little bit of butter and take it four to five times a day. It really soothes the throat and drives the cold away.

That sounds good! I feel like I want to have a cup of hot tea too. I don't have cough nor colds but with you mentioning hot tea with honey and lemon sounds really tempting. I've never expected to crave hot tea. I've always been a coffee drinker. But these days, I've come to love tea because of its health benefits and its relaxing effect. I don't know if its just a mind matter or something but I feel its effect on me. Thanks for sharing marcie! Have a great day!

I have not drunk hot tea, honey, and lemon together, but I have had peppermint tea with honey, and also hot lemon with slivers of ginger, a dash of cayenne pepper, honey, and I added some fennel seeds. I have no idea whether the latter did any god, but I love their licorace taste. Oh was that green tea or regular tea? Or was it a herbal tea? I have had Echinacea tea and I also I have some throat tea when I get a bad throat but we go shopping at Superstore and I have to buy them separately at a health food or bulk store, but I heard honey is very good for colds.

Thanks for sharing this with all of us. I hope that you have recovered from your cold. I love having my hot tea with some honey and few slices of fresh lemon. I would not even need aspirins if I am having that. LOL! Anyway, take care!

This is probably my family's most effective cold/flu remedy as well. Any sort of herbal tea (chamomile and green usually) with some honey, lemon and ginger works a treat. It clears up my sinuses and gets me a little more motivated. Drinking a lot of water is also really helpful (cool, but not refigerated) =D
