Am always looking for new and improved holiday ideas. Most often ornaments. These look interesting on a christmas tree but are difficult to make and very time consuming. What's your opinion? http://hubpages.com/hub/Wedding_table_decoration_idea

We made these one year with my aunt. It was a kit (ours also had some shiny white beads that were attached to the edges and then silver tinkle type bells in the center of the bell). Anyway, it looks much more difficult then it is. We had a kit, so everything was precut and we just hooked them together. A pattern would do though...then you could cut your plastic canvas, hook it together, attach any special decorations and have a great Christmas ornament. I am wire wrapping regular Christmas balls and adding festive glass beads (on the wire) for unique and inexpensive decorations!

I agree. It's not a difficult project but is time consuming. Sounds like the project you are working on now is pretty. Thanks for responding.

I make my own ornaments, but they are not very time consuming. I make salt dough (i will send you the recipe). I also buy those glass balls and decorate them with mosaic tiles. I am learning how to make felt ornaments and cannot wait to start selling these items. I am hoping to make the dough tomorow and and bake them tomorrow night. By FRiday night I should be able to paint them.

Your ornaments sound very interesting. My items are made with plastic canvas so they take forever to finish. Thanks for responding and good luck with sales. carolbee

They look pretty good, but I don't think I could make them. I'm not a very crafty person - I prefer to buy my decorations :-)

The smaller the project, the harder it is to do. These look very different on a Christmas tree and maybe because they are white. Thanks for responding.

Don't know if your looking for something a bit different. But we do every other holiday here. 1 year thanksgiving. 1 yr Christmas. My husband came up with this idea. To have each guest contribute a dish to the holiday meal. One guest bring a veggie dish, 1 a potato,1 a desert. We provide the main dish. I'd select a catagory per guest though. Otherwise you may end up with 3 mashed potato dishes. lol

We've done this in the past for holiday parties and it works very well. Only have to have one social director......lol Thanks for responding.
