Rating all discussions and responses.

I challenge all mylotters to give a rating to all the discussions and responses they feel are good ones. I don't think enough of us are rating. It would be nice to get high star ratings. Maybe if everyone got high rates we would get paid more. I feel that most mylotters are not doing this. Also a challenge to all my friends here. When you go into a discussion check out who the other people who responded are and give your friends a rating, as well as all responses you think are good. If you are reading them before you respond, it only takes a second to rate them.

I do not think ratings affect earnings... In fact, I believe that its the number of posts/discussions a member posted in a given amount of time in a day...and the number of page views mylot gets for the day...

You are probably right, but no one knows for sure, do they. It would be nice if mylot would let us know the pay structure. But even if it has nothing to do with our earnings, it is still nice to have a high rating.

I agree. We dont lose anything when we rate, its not that it slows us down or something. And this way we can see which ones from us write good replies or those who are offensive.I personally give a plus to everyone who writes good in topic responses even when i disagree with them. I also rate my friends.

I fully endorse your views.I sincerely rate every response and hope the others would be doing it too.I am not sure if it afects our earnings but still its better to rate it.I would want mine also to be rated.

You're right. I was wondering why nobody was rating me. Now, I just realized one of the reasons would be that I don't rate them too. Since you've posted this topic, I'll try to rate lots of discussions I'll come across with. Ummm...chrislotz, how come you don't have a star rating? Your posts are way over 100. Is there a possibility that you'll lose your star?

I do have a star rating. If you responded from your email it doesn't show, but since you responded you can see it after you posted your response. It is not very high right but it used to be a 10 till someone or someones started rating me with a negative. I think I may have irked someone. I am slowly working it back up.

Thanks for the topic I didn't even know about the ratings. Your post was my first 1 to rate. I was wondering about those stars over the profiles, now I know. I don't think it is obvious enough for new users. Thanks!

thanks for bringing this up. i think that we should start rating more even if we don't respond to a certain discussion we should at least show some respect to the others who did and rate their responses. but the fact remains that it is their choice to decide who to rate and i don't think that your discussion is enough to persuade people to rate but we still have to show you some appreciation for trying. all i can say is lately i have been getting some good ratings since i just moved from a seven to an eight. thanks to those who are rating me.

To tell u the truth i have never rated anyone, i guess that's cause im not quite sure how to, but I think I would rate people that have put in discussions that have interested me, (like this one now) Its somethingh im going to have a look at after I post this reply. Maybe if I rate people I might get a rating as well.lol

Well... I have been doing this all along. I rate the discussions that I respond to and the responses to my discussion. I also rate those discussions that I find informative and elaborate even though I am not taking part in the discussion and just merely reading some posts/ discussions that I find interesting to read. Yes rating discussions (+) help in upgrading the star rating.

Good for you. I do the same, I rate all. I don't give negative rates either, If I don't like the response in quality, I just don't rate it at all. When I rate a response it has nothing to do if they agree with me or not. I have given best response to people that have disagreed with me, because they posted their opinions and were not rude about it. Everyone may have a different opinion, me included. So it doesn't help determine their rating.

I always rate everybody here positive. I hope we will have good reputation although it doesn't have an effect on our earnings here.

I usually rate all coments on a discussion I've entered... except mabye those that are too shallow to rate positive and not so bad to rate negative, I let those be, hehe. Do you rate, Chris? Rate me positive!! (just kidding!) LOL!!!

Indeed, and I'll keep rating, especially people who have been clearly screwballed by the system.

I thought of putting out a discussion on this a few days ago but never got to it. It's a good thing you started this discussion. Like you, I feel that there aren't many mylotters giving ratings. I for one make sure to give a positive rating to anyone who participates on my discussions as well as to authors and respondents to discussions I join in.

Here is a follow up to the last post I wrote in this thread. Yesterday I was confused about how money is allocated to posts. I said I would be writing a short number of quite long posts to see what difference that made to my daily addition of funds after the pathetic addition from the day before of 8 cents for about 30 articles. Well, what a differnce. I added 3 moderately long posts and had 19 cents added. I could not believe it. My average cents per post climbed from 1.382 cents per post to 1.405 cents per post. I can only assume from this that the real "value fro money", if indeed there is any from spending copious amounts of time to earn blood money, is in writing longer posts rather than shorter ones. I shall be trying this again today, and hopefully, I will finally reach the first payout level of $10.00. My goodness it has been hard work. I would be interested to hear of the experiences of others in their earning to see whether these findings are the correct ones. I hope that I have stumbled upon something here. Best wishes to all the other mylot people for your earnings. It is extra money in our paypal accounts when all said and done.
