Hello myLot Users
It’s been awhile since the last time we spoke, but rest assured we’ve been busy working to make myLot the best place on the internet.
The reason for today’s alert, is that we are excited to bring you two new upgrades! The first upgrade is that we have overhauled the Interests page to make it more user-friendly. Our designers have worked their tails off on this improvement and we know you’ll like it.
The second upgrade is one that we are all very excited to bring you. We have added a new rating system called Interest Rankings. What is an Interest Ranking you might ask? Well, Interest Rankings are a way to measure how well myLot users are perceived by the community within a particular interest.
The cool thing about Interest Rankings is it shows myLot users how reliable other myLot users discussions and comments are on any given myLot interest. It also gives users with a vast amount of knowledge in a given interest the ability to showcase and gain recognition for that knowledge.
The best way to increase your Interest Rankings is to contribute positively and often to discussions within a particular interest. Note that Interest Rankings are calculated once a day, so you may not see changes for up to one day.
For more information on Interest Rankings, see the link on the top left hand side (above your avatar) of any page while logged into myLot.

yes this really a good thing i am also welcome it. but i have a problem with mylot its welcome page is very bulky.

This is good, discussions for a certain interest must really be related to the interest unlike some discussions that is just post anywhere and not really on the interest that the topic is being discussed. so now, it will also be rated. better be good on new topics.

yep, i havnt see you here for a while. its nice to see you again. ;-)
yes, its the same with me, usually i post my discussion on mylot, life or people. its the interest where most users are so you can attract people to comment. but because of this new feature we had to be a bit specific on our topics. like when its about health, then better post it on health than people or life. happy posting.

Hi Larskie! Now I'm really worried! I'm all over the map when it comes to posting topics. I try to put them where they belong on the My Lot forums, but often I'm mystified as to the perfect spot. So, lots of my stuff and discussions go into Life forum or People or My lot. I suppose I will have to be much more specific now. The problem for me is that I can't locate the forums I want. How weird is that?
This new update for My Lot will make my job a little harder. I hope noone judges me too harshly if I post on the wrong forum. I will try my best.
Nice to chat with you again. Happy to see you back at My Lot. I've been gone for a few weeks. But, hopefully, I can get back to posting and make my payout before the end of the month. Fingers crossed. Happy Posting.

Sorry, i forgot to ask earlier. Where can I log the problems I faced when using myLot? i.e. bugs?
I have one distinct problem. Apparantly, when I logged onto myLot and close the current window or navigate away from it, and return back to myLot, my session stays, however, the interests and discussions shown on my myLot homepage are not mine. They are others!! The only way I solved this is to log out and re-login. Is this a potential bug? I don't really like to log out from myLot cause I am using a personal PC and I really appreciate that my session is saved whenever I return back to myLot.

Is this ratings system going to be just another way for disgruntled members to punish the rest of us? The star system is bad enough.

Oh, is that right? Is that why the leader in rankings in the interest "goats" has actually written about Celine Dion? There are also a couple of posts about dogs in this interest category.
Please Mylot, this will only work if people put their discussions under the correct interest heading. And some of the interest headings are ridiculous. Like under "Things I want to do with my life" is "live" or "children". All someone has to do then to excell in an interest is put all their discussions under the same heading.

Hi, I see it positively that new changes are being made.
However, I thought we have heard so many complaints about the existing rating system already. Don't you think introducing another irrelevant system is quite pointless? There is no sure way to really rate how proficient someone is in a topic. And myLot is supposed to be fun... why must we keep introducing benchmarks to increase competitiveness? What for?
I honestly think that the effort of myLot, while highly applauded, is spent in the wrong direction. One VERY effective way to make more users happier is to increase the earnings. I know saying it is easy but doing it is challenging.
And so, I humbly suggest that effort be expended in the area of increasing our earnings. Upgrades are cool, but more earnings ROCK.

Not sure I full understand the interest rankings. I mean, I understand it but I guess I just don't get the purpose of it. But I think it's really decent that these upgrades have been made and that mylot is still a great place to go and post.

Thank You Very Much for the New Upgrade Info. Frankly, I am very glad and proud to be mylot member. At least as a panacea for my long waiting - "Page Loading Problem", since November 29, 2007 and until to date : Dec 11, 2007.

That is some good news you have there but my only worry about the interest ranking is that it could get abused by members who for some reason or another, do not like you. Anyway, I am not so sure at this moment how it works and if it is not similar to the star ranking system, I guess it would be a good addition to the site. Cheers!
