I don't know if it's because my first language is not english, but don't really understand how those ranking works. I think I red Mylot message 2-3 times, but I just can seems to really understand what is all about. If someone could explain to me in their own word, I would be very happy about it :) Thanx in advance :)

I don't understand it either Beyonce. I mean I'm part of a ton of interests but I've not seen myself in the rankings. Seems like its based on your intital star rating (or should I say the +s and -s one gets responding to threads of a interest). I mean I've been seeing a couple people with top ratings and I rarely or never see them in the interest in question (could be mistaken or it could be a longer period of time behind them, I really don't know).

The level reflects the quantity of posts you have in a interest (life, people, mylot, internet etc). The more posts the higher the number. The other numbers were explained is how you do compared to all of the members. So the number 1 in life should be the guy with the a lot of best responses in that category. I' not even close to the top 100's.

Okay, I just went to my profile and checked on "my interest ratings". It is second from the bottom in a list of options on the left hand side of the page. What it showed me was that people are not rating members' responses. My highest ranking is a 13. I think this is a way to get people to rate discussions more (hopefully positively). Each interest has a ranking according to how you have responded to discussions and people's ranking of your response. They are listed in order of ranking. Like I said, my highest rank is 13 out of over 1,000. I am assuming that number is the number of posts I have made in that interest, which means only 13 people have positively rated my responses in that particular interest. I hope this clears it up for you. If you check out your own interest rankings it should make it clearer for you. This is definitely a way to get people to rate discussions. I don't believe people have been doing so as I have been sitting at the same overall rating (98/100) since the stars were first introduced. What isn't said is whether ranking affect our earnings.

Now appearing next to your name when you start a discussion is your interest rating for that interest.
