How much money would you give a homeless person?

Some of us see them everyday on the streets, or at a corner. If you saw a homeless person on the street, or at a corner how much money do you think you would give them? Would it be what ever you had at that time, or would it be a specific amount. If I had $3.00 at that time I would give $3.00, and if not I would give what ever change I had. So, how much would you give?

I wouldn't give them any money. It might be contributing to their drinking. Instead I would take them to lunch or buy them something to eat some where.

well with me, it depends on what their sign says. if it says need money for food, ill go get them something to eat. most of the time it also depends on what i have available.

Well again, it all depends on the situation, what sort of that homeless person is in, whether he is another jerk, or is he really needy. But I think I should give him enough money to get his day going, and get him a job or something, if I have one in mind. Or if he's not eligible to do that job, I will come back again, the next day, and give him some money to help his day going on well.

considering i have 4 kids and no job, i give what ever change is in my pockets. if i dont have any change i will give a dollar. i do it when i am by myself, but i make sure i do it when i have my children with me so they know to be generous, too.
