What was the turning point of your life?
For example:
TRUE--
My mother had an aneurysm when I was younger and she had a very bad seizure. She almost died. After she had surgery in the hospital, and the nurses were taking care of her, I saw how they just didn't do their job, they did more. It helped me through her healing process, because brain surgery is a very delicate surgery and her nurses comforted me because they have a passion of helping others. I screwed up my highschool and withdrew. Today I have a high school diploma and I'm in school training to become a nurse. That's what changed my life. What about yours?

I had a hysterectomy at after my 34th birthday- last year- because I had ovarian cancer that had spread, went through Chemo with 2 young children! I guess it helped me to be a stronger person it sure seems alot easier to face things now as I face everything head on! I'm in nursing school as well! :)
Before this I took a lot for granted and now I pretty much take every little moment and everything/everyone in my world and cherish it- the good and the bad! I don't fight anymore and I try like heck not to get mad- in the end it isn't worth it. I just never know when and if I'm getting sick again- though I think it is back- in a lymph node this time- and I want to live it up to the fullest and have a happy life- however long or short it may be! I also make sure everyone knows how much I love them or even dislike them- I don't hide anything anymore!! :)

I have had a few life changing experiences but I guess the first big one was when my father passed away, my mum had alzheimers so I was working and looking after her as well, and then came the time her illness worsened and I had to take her to a nursing home, which I spent most of my time, here I became so involved not only in helping my mother but other residents that were there that didn't have too many visits from anyone, after my mother passed away I continued volunteering at the nursin home for 6 years, it really did change my life in many ways.

I'm sorry for your loss, I can't imagine myself without them. Thank you for your response.
Something in common: I wasn't just taking care of my mom, I was taking care of other people. I met so many people and we all seemed to have something in common.
