When I was a kid "Santa" always wrapped my presents...even the little ones in my stocking. Without giving it a second thought, I have always wrapped all my kids presents. This year we are Celebrating Christmas with my hubbys sister and her family. Somehow, this topic came up when I was talking to my sister in law...turns out Santa is to busy to wrap presents for all the children in the world! Not only do they not wrap their presents but the gifts are taken out of the packages and displayed under the tree ready to be played with Christmas morning. Because Santa "makes" all the gifts, they don't come in store bought packages. I see their reasoning and I would never critisize but this leaves me in an awkward situation...we just do things differently. My kids are going to ask why Santa didn't wrap their presents this year??. Not sure how I'll explain this to a 4 and 6 year old...any suggestions?

We have all of our presents wrappped. The kids never ask any questions about it. I think they would be disappointed if they weren't wrapped.

That is really a tough one. Santa wraps all the presents for us, except for the stocking stuffers. I think that the fun of Christmas is the unwrapping the presents. I would tell your husband to ask his sister if she wouldn't mind Santa wrapping your kids presents and maybe even her kids. I hate to say it, but I think your kids are going to be disappointed if their presents are not wrapped. I know my 7 yr old would be so sad if she didn't get to unwrap the gift. Maybe you can volunteer to wrap all of her presents too. Unless you want this to become a new tradition with your family, you have to try to convince your sister in law. Please let us know what happens....

You're right, half the fun is tearing open WRAPPED presents...I so enjoy seeing the anticipation is their eyes Christmas morning ! If my sister in law insists Santa doesn't wrap presents I guess I'll just have to tell my nieces that perhaps santa ran out of wrapping paper. LOL Either way I'll be sure to let you know how it turns out...we're there a week so I'm sure I'll have lots to tell...I'll come home with plenty of topis for discussion ! Thanks for the response...
